About Mitta Mitta
The beautiful township of Mitta might be a small rural village but it packs a punch when it comes to scenery and ambience. At the centre of the township is the Mitta Mitta Pub (Laurel Hotel) which is a busy hub on weekends and during holidays. It backs on to the pretty Snowy Creek which in the summer acts as the local pool and is a popular spot for a picnic and afternoon of water activity. The clear waters and cool and refreshing and the atmosphere is relaxed and happy. In summer you can walk up to the pub and enjoy a meal, then return Creekside for a dip.

Also in the centre of the town is the Mitta General Store. The store offers fuel – unleaded, premium and diesel. It is a Post Office. It also sell cigarettes, hot take-away food e.g. fish & chips, dim sims, hamburgers, home-made gourmet pies, sandwiches made to order and home-made sponge cakes. Locally baked fresh bread is available as are camping supplies, live bait, fishing rods and lures. They have a small dining room for those wishing to relax and unwind after a long journey. There’s also a small art and craft shop next to the pub which is opened at various times. Check the opening hours during your visit.
Just a minute or two outside the town is the Mitta Mitta Brewing Company. A great little brewery only opened in 2018. Owned by two couples this property has been a labour of of love and serves up great ambience and beers as well as sone food options. Definitely worth a visit. The Mighty Mighty Mitta Muster is celebrated on the Labour Day Long Weekend in March. The event is a great day out for the whole family with plenty of entertainment and activities on offer for everyone. The event incorporates a bareback and saddled stockman’s challenge, dog jump, tug-of-war, wood chopping competition, the eighth annual High Country Car and Bike Show ‘N’ Shine, showjumping and novelty horse events, as well as plenty of fantastic stalls, rides and other family entertainment.
